A follow up on the landscape cover study:
Early spring (mid March) seeded oil seed radish has covered the soil entirely by mid June. It produces a very nice small purple flower. It shows moderate ability to take mowing (I sown quite a bit into the turf.) Where it has been cut back twice (lastly down to 3 inches) it throws up nice bed of flowers. This would be perfect in a meadow. Where it came up, bolted and flowered early the foliage was very yellow on new leaves. (maybe Maganese deficiency). It is blending very nicely with other wild flowers in the bed. It is productivly not allowing any summer weeds to grow in the beds. This will eliminate the need to spend time and energy pulling weed are spend money, time and energy chemicaly treating.
